Have I always had the confidence to jump in the air with a Nicola Green Consultancy branded t-shirt saying “Girl on Fire”… absolutely not!

What I have done is worked extremely hard on myself to enable me to get to that stage, and that is why I mentor others. Let’s be completely honest… that hard work will never end!

In 2026 I set a personal intention to increase my creativity, which in turn is stepping out of my comfort zone and increasing my confidence.

This has already evolved into the Spring launch of my Lakeside Retreat – Confidence and Creativity Workshops!

Confidence

Childhood, School, University, pregnancy, work, relationships, grief, financial strains, parenting, menopause… there are so many times in our lives when our confidence can take a hit.

We are also really good at labelling ourselves ‘confident’ or ‘not confident’. I question these labels.

I believe we can all increase our self-confidence, self-belief and self-esteem and that is exactly what I do with the clients I work with. In fact, I don’t think I have ever mentored a client who hasn’t struggled with confidence in one way or another.

How do we start?

With an offload.

I’m not a therapist or a counsellor, or even there to deep dive into my clients’ lives, but when they offload previous experiences it is often apparent where the knocks in confidence have come from.

We discuss and reflect.

Now let’s take action…

I don’t work with anyone who also doesn’t want to increase their confidence, so this is the exciting part.

I ask one simple question….” How do you want to feel?”

The basis of every answer requires work on self-confidence, self-belief and self-esteem.

Why?

Because nearly every single one of us spends time listening to that voice in our head and if that voice is left unmanaged it can become a little bit unruly!

So we switch it up.

We take the boxing gloves off and we start shaking the pom poms!

In other words, I encourage my clients to stop beating themselves up and instead become their own cheerleader.

Is this a quick and easy task?

No!

Most of us are much more comfortable talking to ourselves in a negative way than we are in a positive way.

It is a CHOICE.

The word ‘choice’ is often a lightbulb moment for clients. Many have forgotten they have choice.

It is then down to them to choose how they want to speak to themselves. They don’t initially need to believe their positive talk but over time they will start to get used to it and believe it, just like they did with the negative chatter.

This is simply an initial step into a re-build of confidence and there are so many more steps within my mentoring programme.

As we continue to work together confidence grows and each client takes more steps forward.

What do I get?  The complete joy of seeing clients flourish in front of my eyes.

Choice, Consistency &Change = CONFIDENCE
